Where in the Gila are you hunting?

Unit 15 is some kind of sparse on mule deer. You'll have to put in a lot of time and effort just to spot a few. The good news is that when you do find one, he could be a good one.

More elk than muley's in 15 these days. But as Sneaky said if you find a buck it could be a good-un.

The best and biggest muleys are around the Chama area. I hunted Unit 2A three years ago, and did see one monster but mostly saw lots of this...............

I have seen some incredible bucks over the years driving down hwy 64 through the Chama area, a few super bulls as well, just another stretch of road I drive slower on at night. Never hunted NM though, but have driven through it for 35 years or so..Seen some good ones around Cuba as well on hwy 550, but more elk
They are hunting West of Farmington, on the rez? I will be going through there next Tuesday, or Wednesday
