Yes and anything else that tries to grow in that spot for a long time.
There are lots better and cheaper ways than diesel. You would have to soak a couple of gallons on each pear plant to do any good.

Google "Brush Busters". Good control, lot less diesel and much cheaper.

eeks333 Every pulled some out of livestock mouths? You can burn the thorns off but way to much work. Don't have any and don't want any. Remedy with diesel works pretty good.

You don't want any cedar, pear, or mesquite if you are smart.

Burn the needles off and the cows will eat the heck out of it. The problem is that once they start eating it, then they always want it. Then you run into problems with needles in their noses all the time.

It's more expensive but is the way to go with large infestations of cactus.

I was on a deer lease in Throckmorton and the cows ate every prickly pear they could find regardless of the needles.

I use Remedy mixed about 1:4 with diesel on pear, mesquite, poison ivy, etc. So far, it's not on the controlled substance list and you don't have to be licensed to buy it.

My wildlife biologist told me of a product called Sendero and it works well on the pear.

I just went to DOW site. They make the product Sendero® and no where do they say that it is for catus. They don't even hint that you could use it for that. Maybe your biologist should do a little more research before he tells you to spend your money on something designed for woody problems such as Mesquite.

specialty herbicide, the New Standard in Mesquite
Control™, is now your proven partner for wildlife habitat
enhancement. Certain woody plants are essential for
desirable wildlife habitat. Wildlife use these plants for cover,
nesting, and nutrition. However, species such as mesquite,
huisache or honeylocust outcompete desirable shrubs
for precious moisture and sunlight if left unmanaged. The
selectivity of Sendero allows control of undesirable brush,
while having little to no effect on desirable brush even with
broadcast aerial applications.

Just Remedy and diesel, no water?
