What's a toxicant? Are they getting pigs drunk?

It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.

If pigs were near the problem everyone makes them out to be, landowners wouldn't be so inclined to charge people to hunt them.

hmm. you can't control population hunting them and that's a big headache to land owners. hog dogging is borderline, you can get more hogs and run them off temporarily, but I think still ineffective population control. my neighbor HATES the hogs tearing up his wheat fields, he told me to shoot hogs anytime on his place, but doesn't deal with other hunters. he PAYS a trapper who got over 50 just last year.

^^^. Right on Rob. Have seen a 80 acre coastal pasture all but destroyed in the course of a month.

In this case it's Sodium Nitrate...and it's supposed to kill them in about 2hrs but be harmless to scavengers after 30 minutes of the hogs ingesting it.

I don't think that's a correct statement as much as people don't won't access to there land ...

They are a major problem on crops ...

This is the biggest thing no one is going to be dumb enough to just let who knows what type of people have access to their land.. that can be more of a problem than the pigs...

They will find or allow trusted people to do so and not have to worry about the hassle.. or charge and make sure they are covered on both ends... I have huge amounts of properties I can shoot pigs off of even if im just passing by and see some I know I can jump on the property and shoot... all these properties I either know the landowner and hes known me growing up in the area or I use to bale hay on the property

I realize the problem with pigs and with allowing people access. I just think it tends to be overstated in many cases.

I see your point because I know hunters who actually want hogs on their lease. And I think it varies from place to place.

Where I'm at I have no farming. But they do prey on some of my exotic offspring. In uvalde I don't have exotics and I don't notice much of a negative effect. And big lake doesn't have them.
