We have a pop up camper that stays at the lease, this past spring we got tons of mice. We put out poision bait cubes, but what else can we use that won't stink us up so bad come deer season?
I was thinking mothballs but that doesnt seem like a good idea.

Adult late onset hunter. Why did I wait so long to get started?

If you have all the vegetation down underneath, then the only points of entry would be touching the ground I'd think, wheels, jack and stabilizers.. Wonder if you can put a pile of moth balls around those places, or a load of grease where it is to slick to climb.
If at first you dont succeed, then skydiving is not for you..

When I had a travel trailer I would regularly throw moth balls underneath.
The wife puts Gain dryer sheets around anywhere she doesn't want mice at our cabin. I guess it works. We don't see any mice.

My Dad used cut up piece of horse apples (the fruit from Bois d'ark trees) in his workshop and in the camper at the lease. No mice after that. I've done that and had friends that tossed the moth balls around as well. Smell of the moth balls lasts quite a while though it does work.
Hadn't heard of the dryer sheets.

Cat, cat, cat ...... you get the idea. Only way to keep them out I'd rather have the mice. So kill them both. Poison, traps, pellet guns. We've had a blast with them when they were bad at a camp or two. However, if you keep poison out all the time, keep food stuffs that will attract them out of the camper and seal up entry points then you should overcome the issue.

Dryer sheets work but you need lots of them. When you remove the sheets the smell goes away pretty quick unlike mothballs and as stated above keep the under growth cut down.

I agree....a good snake or three will take care of your mice problem.
But seriously, if you don't get rid of the mice you will have a snake problem too. If you keep poison out all the time it will keep them down to a minimum. You can buy it in bulk for cheaper at the do it yourself pet stores and it's much cheaper.

Victor mouse trap and peanut butter in addition to the above mentioned items. We had hardly any mice during the winter but they have come around since.

Go to TSC and get "Fresh Cab". It will keep them out. I put it in my tractors and have good luck.

They are getting in somewhere. Crawl underneath the trailer and look for how they are getting inside. I did this on my old RV, plugging all holes it with brass wool. Then I bought a bucket of Contact mouse bait and six bait stations and placed them underneath the trailer. Lastly, I placed glue boards inside before I closed up.

Ain't figured that out yet on android... Update on yellow jackets , they've left the building.... some good advice by other posters... Been using the same cheap Walmart brand BB's that used ta run off the yellow jackets... While it worked with the jackets, had ta limit the range on shots, due to the smooth bore barrel & cheap ammo Do they make rifle bored barrels for a BB gun? While mice are larger targets, have found that it takes multiple shots while my Daisy works good on smaller critters, such as dirt dobbers, wasps, yellow wasps, yellow jackets up to bumble bees... The newer high powered Co2 BB guns are more suited for mice, moles, even up ta rat size varments... Hog hunten is pretty slow around here...

Go to TSC and get "Fresh Cab". It will keep them out. I put it in my tractors and have good luck. Fresh Cab made me sneeze so I switched to "EcoSmart home pest control" It has a strong minty smell. It keeps all kinds of critters away. I like it because its a spray and I can soak cotton balls in it to put in cabinets and closets. Last longer that way. It can be overdone though so becareful.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

I think I've tried just about everything with either no luck or no skill.

Do a search on RV & camping forums. After 1st winter storage mice problems I've used peppermint oil in little bowls past several years with great success. Real peppermint, not artificial. Pricey but I haven't seen a turd or any other sign of mice/rats since I started using it. Smell goes away after a couple hours airing out the trailer. Also put out 10-12 traps but haven't had anything spring any of them.

Where do you find the Eco Smart Pest Control? I picked up a 64oz bottle at ACE Hardware.

Chew Blocks and Tomcat packets from TSC work well for me so far. I see dead mice outside the camper occasionally.

...also keep the grass mowed and don't leave food in the trailer. Clean all areas used for eating or dining. Mice looking for a warm place in the winter with food & water, then they become food for other slithery critters. We have electricity and I bought one of those plug in sonic pest repeller thingies. Seemed to have worked pretty good.
