Our new place is south of Sheffield. We're prepping for our first "big fill" of feeders. I'm going to see if the Sanderson feed store will deliver to the ranch our first, big order, but for other times headed out there, where do you Ozona hunters buy your feed, since the place right by the highway and 163 went out of business? The hardware store?

Just trying to not burn all the extra gas hauling it from my area.

Thanks for the help.

I get it at the feed store there just a few blocks north of 10, off 163. I've only bought a few bags, so I don't know anything about bulk deliveries, but I always thought the place was nice.

They offer Lyssy & Eckels feed also. They can fill protein feeders and do deliveries.

Triple C's

yes its the hardware store as well and yes they sell corn in bulk but no they are not out of business. They're pricey but they're the only game in town. They also close early and only til noon on Saturdays.

Thanks guys. I've bought a few things at Triple C's a while ago. I will at least pull off and check out Roosevelt and the Simon Bros., sounds like a neat place.

There's something about Sonora I just don't care for, can't put my finger on it. Of course, I thought Ozona sucked...until I saw Sheffield.

Thanks JKC. Yeah, I knew Triple C was still in business. I was talking about that wool consignment/feed store that was right behind what is now the new Valero station, right at the corner with I10. It closed a few years ago.

There's a guy who hangs out at the feed store in Ozona that offered to deliver our corn for $100 a trip(3 pallets every quarter). We are off 349 down the Pumpville. I don't remember his name but he is always hanging around there. About 30, hat, boots, ask the girl there I am sure she can tell you. That said we buy ours in Iraan, it's usually a bit cleaner than the Ozona places

Ozona Wool Growers good place as well they have a better variety of feed than triple C.
The Sanderson feed store closed last year.
Rafters W feed in Sonora is good just a longer haul.
Roosevelt Simon Brothers is where I buy my protein Lyssy & Eckel. Longer haul but worth it.

PM me and I can get you the number of the guy that fills feeders out There.

I can also send you all #s for the feed stores as well.

Triple C Hardware & Lumber (325) 392-4123 ... but I usually haul mine from Brown Feed in Lampasas on my way out from Georgetown ... cheaper enough to cover the extra fuel and then some normally. I usually take 1200-1500 lbs and go every 6 weeks to every other month during non hunting periods.

Not thinking about them closing at noon on Saturday, I made one long haul out there and planned on buying at triple C to find them closed about 1:00 on a Sat. afternoon, went and worked on feeders/pens and headed home. Got to about Sonora and realized the grocery store at the north end of town in Ozona usually has several pallets of corn ... DOH!!! I was far enough down the road I didn't turn around though.

I'm in that area often, I either buy it in Ft Stockton or in Sonora. I save a couple hundred by going that route.

When I hunted near Sanderson I paid the feed store to deliver it was very pricey.

$11.00/100 lbs bagged (%5.50/50) at Brown Feed in Lampasas, only about 20-25 miles out of my way. Filled feeders and got one set back up after wind storm took it down, found lid about 200 yards away. Its nailed down now. Found the coons have eaten the wires between solar panel & coon cage, need to get some flex conduit installed on that one on my next trip out.
