Anybody do this and have luck with it. I have a few bucks I'd like to get sheds off of. What do y'all use for a shed trap?

We built an X shape fence under the feeder with Goat fence. With each leg of the x about three feet long and two feet high. Then put a bucket around the feeder so the corn falls in the middle of the X. The bucks push there horns off trying to get the corn.

There was a post with pics a few weeks ago of one similar to what was described above and then someone also posted about doing a zigzag pattern with wire in it to accomplish the same thing.

My question is what happens when you do this and they are not ready to drop the antlers? Are they going to potentially get hung up and hurt themselves trying to get loose?

We did not put the trap out until we start seeing deer with half racks. Never did have any hung up. Like first of March.

I.use a round trap made from net wire filled with cotton seed and make it approx 30 inches in diameter and make the wire some what loose. They will scrape there horns on it greeting the cotton seed and it has worked well.
