I just got my video finished up from my hunt this fall. I took my father out to western Alaska to see if we could get him his first moose at 72. He has received the conservationist award on the last few hunts but was saving karma points for this beauty! Unfortunately I only took my gopro in an attempt to go light and will never not bring the DSLR again. My buddy Owen and his father also joined us and Owen took his largest moose to date.

Enjoy!

Nice video and congrats to your dad. Using the caribou scapula to thrash the alders and flash some white is more than those rut-crazed bulls can stand. Watching that bull come across the tundra on a string will really get your heart pumping too. I thought that you were gonna wait until the bull topped the hump in front of you for a 5-yard shot.

Well done!

Enjoyed the video and was wondering where you hunted out of and who you used? Your credits mention Hagland Air. Is it the same company with all the crashes? http://www.adn.com/article/20140411/5-op...nder-microscope

Did they just drop you off and you used your own gear?

Eddie- we used Hagland to fly us in to a village then met one of our hunting partners there with his plane and traveled the rest of the way to our area. The hunting area is a secret but if you do a little research you can figure out where it is fairly easily. We used all of our own gear as well. It is easy for a news paper or the feds to point fingers when you fly in the most hostile weather in the US every day when neither of them could run a business to save their lives.

Dawaba- It is actually a spike moose scapula, caribou ones just don't last more than an outing or two. I would have let it come closer but my dad is very hard of hearing and doesn't whisper very well, which spooked a bull the day before at 300 yards.

Nice pair....I'd sooner face off between a brown bear....than a bull moose.

Another fun video. Thanks for sharing. I'm seriously getting the feeling that I'll be there in 2016. Wish I could make it happen next year, but Africa this year wiped me out.

The last time I was there, I did the same thing to my waders that you guys did to that boat. I never could get it fixed and spend all my time draining my boot and trying to only put one foot in the water when I had to get in it.

Really fun seeing the pilot land on that river bar. Especially cool how he skimmed the top of the water before hitting the solid ground.

Eddie
