Shot this Axis buck at a friends low fence ranch. He is still in velvet and kinda flexible. Is it possible to just let the antlers dry out or should I just toss them? I shot it on 1/14. Thanks.

Outside temperatures: 40- high 50's.
All I am looking to do with it is hang the skull and antlers over the back patio, so it doesnt have to look perfect.

That velvet is more than likely just going to rot off if left outside. your best bet would probably be to take it to a pressure washer and just strip the velvet off at this point

I'd probably had that one shoulder mounted.

Put it in an ant mound, they'll eat it off.

Put it in an ant mound, they'll eat it off. In my experience ants will only eat fresh meat, but hey I've been wrong before.
