What works best? How do you support the weight of the head?

The best way I have found is to use large sewing needles, they are cheap and hard enough to drive in with a hammer. Go through the skin not just the felt you can put them in at an angle to hold it in place. Another benefit is you can use a lot of them and they don't damage your wall as much as screws or Sheetrock anchors.

I used a staple gun right at edge of felt / skin. Been up 11 years. It was up the same way for over 20 years in my parents house before I got it.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.
