I am going to Africa in May and need some recommendations for a taxidermist between Houston and SW Louisiana. This trip just fell in my lap at the last minute and I am pumped. It will be my first time going to Africa and I want someone who routinely does African animals. I am much more concerned with the quality of work than price or speed. I know there are plenty of shops that do great work but I have read and heard some horror stories. Who would you guys send your stuff too? It will be mostly plains game and possibly buffalo. Feel free to PM me if necessary. Thanks!

Research the price difference in having to pay import/excise taxes on taking "natural resources" from Africa to America VS. Having the taxis in Africa do it and shipping you the final product. I think I recall a discussion about this and the savings involved in having the Africans do the work but possibly at the expense of lesser quality.

Troubadour, the 3 that I keep hearing about are B&B, Woods and Water, and Conroe taxidermy.

I will most likely get a couple of euros done in Africa but plan on getting all shoulder mounts done here.
