I live in the panhandle and am looking for a good taxidermist. I shot my first Pintail this year and would like to get it mounted. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You really have to be careful with the birds. A lot of big game taxidermist send them out to places that specialize in them. The problem is in not being able to tan the hides and having to leave the feet and skull in place. It takes a lot of effort to clean and preserve a duck, then pack them so the bugs wont take over. Most will look fine for a year or two, but then quickly become embarrassing.
Take your time, shop around, and be sure that whoever you chose does work that lasts. After bobcats, ducks are where the average are separated from the good!!!!!
I like to store my ducks in pantyhose to hold the feathers in place while in the freezer. You have plenty of time if it's frozen and protected to find somebody good in your area.

Be sure that they are wrapped in plastic well and as airtight as u can get them if your going to keep in freezer for any amount of time.
