Only worked a few hours today so after I arrived home I decided to mess up the kitchen.

I made a peach palette. I normally make peach pies when I have fresh fruit, but today I decided to try something different. I even took the trouble to make my own home made pie crust.

After it cools a bit I will find out how it tastes.

That looks great. Wish I had the energy to try it.

Throw a scoop or 2 of French vanilla on top of a bowl full.

I love peaches but missed the Peach Festival in Weatherford last Saturday.

Nice work. I grew up working a peach orchard in the summer time. A good peach pie doesn't need ice cream. Homemade crust and good peaches is all you need.

Shoot. Eat. Repeat.

I made a big mistake. The galette tasted too good.

My wife has decided that I can no longer purchase pie crusts in a box. I have to make all the pie crusts the old fashioned way. No more grocery store pie crusts for me.

The next time I make the desert I will use 4 peaches instead of 3.

Below is a link for the recipe I used.

I will have to try this, I am covered up with peaches. I had a couple trees that did real good.

The blueberry version looks delicious as well.

Did you precooked your blueberries before placing them in the galette? I have not tried a blueberry, because I thought that they may release too much liquid to be retained by the crust.

I made another peach version to go with supper last night.

No I didn't precook them, but that would be good as well I bet. Simmer them in some sugar before, yum! I don't recall the crust being soggy from the blueberries, but I did smother it in Blue Bell so who knows. Ha!
