Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

My grandfather grew a patch of Jubilee watermelons this year in his garden in Mason, TX. Dad and I went down to visit a few weeks ago because the melons were all ready. They were absolutely fantastic. We cut open 3 or 4 each day and ate until we were about to burst. Good times.

Our local craft brewer makes a watermelon ale made with cold pressed, flash pasteurized watermelons.
It smells and tastes just like watermelon.
Doesn't last long on tap.

Anybody know where one might obtain a red diamond or black diamond watermelon in the metroplex?

I love watermelon too, especially now that they came up with a seedless variety. I had an aunt that made us save the rind & she made watermelon rind pickles. They were fantastic too, but haven't had a pickle like that in 30 years. cry
