Not since I was at home. I don't have baking powder/soda at the house, just don't use it often enough.

Dr. Akin does not allow it.

I saw some good ones made on triple D. I need
to look for that video. The secret was minced
frozen butter iirc.

my wife still makes them occasionally ... I think she pretty much uses the recipe on the container from Bisquick or Pioneer baking mix but she adds a little baking soda or baking powder (can't remember which???). They come out light and fluffy (if she doesn't overcook them).

we used to make them all the time at deer camp but we used beer instead of milk or buttermilk and it would give it more of a yeast taste like a dinner roll.

I had a craving for 7-Up biscuits a couple of weeks ago, so I made some. They were a PITA just like the time I made them before that. I'll stick with the frozen from now on.

PITA because??? sticky/gummy? we have found that if you lay out wax paper and dust some additional flour on it, drop the sticky/gummy globs and lightly roll them in flour before putting in pan they come out much better and easier.

Yes sir, just started making homemade biscuits this year. My ex girlfriend made the best biscuits, now shes out of the picture I gotta make my own grin.

Once you start making homemade biscuits there is no going back to the store bought ones. Best part, you can store or freeze homemade biscuits, throw them in the over for 5-10 mintues, and boom tasty biscuits in not time!

I make 10 biscuits or so one Sunday, takes about 20 minutes, put them in zip lock bags and eat them throughout the week.

Yes! I usually sprinkle flour directly on the granite countertop. I may give it another shot with your recommendation and see if it's any better.

I'm not Bill, but my mom's father, "Daddy Jack" Callaway, said they were as big as a cat's head...thus, the name. Was he mistaken?

He was absolutely right! My Aunt used to make the best biscuits with a dollop of bacon grease on top before they were baked and they were that size.
