Heading to Ingram from Jarrell and wanting opinions on BBQ joints other than Coopers in LlANO.

I prefer Inman's Country Kitchen in Llano over Coopers other than the thick chop. Inman's is famous for their variety of homemade turkey sausage and homemade breads. I am not sure of their schedule during the off hunting season though. they are located a few hundred yards west from Coopers on the north side in the old Rambling Rose honkytonk building.

Some of the best brisket to be found, is a small place on south Main in Burnet called Post Mountain BBQ. I believe they are only open Wednesday thru Saturday though...

Highway 29 BBQ in Bertram is pretty good too. SW corner where the traffic light is on hwy 29 in the old AB McGuills building.

There's a couple of places in Marble Falls too ... Holy Smokes on Commerce and Ken's catfish & BBQ on 281 just north of 1431. Another place is Peete Mesquite BBQ farther south on 281 but haven't tried them.

None of the places mentioned are anywhere near Ingram. Ingram is a bedroom community of Kerrville. Just go into Kerrville and eat at Buzzies BBQ. He won best brisket in the state in Texas monthly in 2010 and won the BBQ pitmasters show a couple of years ago for best brisket. You wont be disappointed. Just make sure you ask for the marbled brisket.

You haven't eaten at Buzzies either have you. If you had, you wouldn't be mentioning any of those other places. None of them compare.

not that I recall ... although I do remember some of the best ever brisket I have ever flopped a lip on was back in the 60s when they were cutting IH10 thru Kerrville and my dad made a trip down to meet up with the constructions foreman about supplying bulk oil for the equipment, some little hole in the wall place on the outskirts of Kerrville. Dad picked up a couple pounds of brisket & sausage and a loaf of bread. We ate off the tailgate while watching some impressive sized heavy equipment moving earth. I'll be sure to put Buzzies on my list when I am ever in Kerrville again though. And, Post Mountain BBQ in Burnet is in my overall top 5 ever for brisket FWIW ...
