i think thats the name of the steak house that i go to when i go to lake ivie, isnt it out in the middle of cotton fields out in the middle of nowhere, if it is the same one im talking about it is awesome, you can order the steak for 2 meal, and they bring u enough steak to feed about 6 people or more.

The best steak I have ever had was using a friends recipe which consisted of using orange juice, soy sauce, & worcestshire sauce as a marinade for some nice 2" thick grain fed Angus Ribeyes for 1 hr! We then seasoned them with McCormicks Montreal spicy steak seasoning and grilled them over a smokey mesquite fire! Been doing them like that ever since !

Great eating. It is isolated in the cotton field; however secure your rods and tackle if you go inside after fishing Ivie. I came back out two years ago to find three rods and tackle box had been taken from the boat after fishing at Ivie.

South of Abilene in Buffalo Gap, Perini's Steak House. President Bush has used them in Washington D.C. Great steaks, but pricey.

The best nice steak house is Pappa's Bros. in downtown Dallas. It is very nice and very expensive. The best cheap but delicious steaks are at the Country Inn in Somerville, just about 15 minutes from Texas A&M. The smallest steak they serve is 1.5 lbs. and is about 10 or 12 dollars. its great food and eats for 3 meals later in the week.

Murphy's in Winchester, Texas near Giddings. Not as good as Ruth Chris' but the price differences more than compensate for the small difference in quality IMO.

I've never had a restaurant steak as good as the one I grill on my BGE.

I've had Lowake steaks a few times and I've had Perini steaks a few times. I just don't see how you can make a better steak than how Beehive in Abilene makes their med/rare fillet...

My wife cooks a steak that's hard to beat. That said, if I was going to buy a high dollar steak, which I've had plenty of on expense account, here are my thoughts:

Pappa's - about as good as it gets
Perry's - not good enough for the price
Fleming's - good, but not as good as Pappa's
Vic and Anthony - about as good as Pappa's
Del Frisco's - excellent steak
Ruth's Chris - best steak I ever had was at the one on North Broad in NO
Commander's Palace in NO - so dang good I almost cried.
Smith and Wollenski in NY - way overpriced and no seasoning at all
Morton's - like Perry's, not good enough for the price.
Diamondback's in Waco - not even on the list of great steaks.
LaRuth's on the West Bank in NO - closed now, but was as good as it gets.

All that said, it often depends on the night, the wine, who you are with, and the cow it came from. But,,if you came over to my place and said "my helicopter is right outside, so where do you want to go for a steak", the answer is Commander's Palace. Pretty please...
