I cannot believe its been a year. I am perplexed at how increasingly rapid time has started to go by. I'll be headed north to Roanoke, Texas Saturday and onto Stinkbelly's place in Weatherford Sunday. We had a really rough start last year and it just went down hill from there. I lost old Red dog, two weeks later Ricky Bobby was killed and two weeks after that my beloved Bullet went onto bigger and better ducks hunts in the sky. A couple few weeks after that Hurricane Harvey blasted us. I have spent every free minute getting my life back on track. We cut the house off of the slab and moved it to high ground and went with pier and beam this go round. There aint no way we will flood again. Once is a shame, twice is getting the shame on me. A third would put me in the DA category.

I was between clinics when I got the call about Old Bullet. I didn't have a whole lot of time to grieve but I sure miss him. I see things around the place that remind me of Bull and it hits me like a brick. None of us own our lives, we just rent the body for a little while. I look forward to getting the training season on. I somehow feel it will help put things back into a groove again.

Sorry to hear about your tough year and your losses! May things get much better for you!!! We will be there Saturday with our two labs. Looking forward to meeting you and watching you train. I hope my two perform well for you, I'm sure one will do great, she is driven and follows commands well.

In spite of the kicking we have taken, we both really feel blessed. I woke up breathing this morning. I love life and realize it is very short. I get out of this life what I put in. So to be honest, I am walking on sunshine even if I got a few shiners along the way.

We will talk about this training at the clinic. This training is completely different than normal dog training. It took me a long time to figure out that reward based training is absolutely the wrong thing to do when conducting snake avoidance. It kills me to watch the California trainers on youtube giving a light correction and then petting the pup saying good dog. The clicker snake avoidance trainers are criminals if you ask me. There is way more to snake avoidance training than "dog see snake shock dog". If anyone goes to a trainer and they correct the dog and then advice you to pet it and love it up, run away. They absolutely have no clue about this training.

Well thank you Guy. I can't even understand life without Bullet around. There is a definitely a hole. Lets just hope dogs go to heaven and I am allowed in.
