Anyone have a working dog that has one? I have a 3yr old lab that they noticed a minor murmur in yesterday, nothing really to do now but wait and see if it gets worse right? She has no other symptoms, is a workhorse, just wondered if anyone has experience with a dog with one!

If it was one of my personal dogs - I'd chase it a little further to figure out the underlying cause. Could be something minor - could be the beginnings of something bigger that you want to stay on top of. Could be something simple like anemia - could be something worse like a failing valve.
With her being 3 and the vet just now noticing it, I personally would be a little bit concerned. Did the vet give it a grade or tell you the type? They're graded 1-6, 1 is of little concern, 6 is bad. There are also 3 different types of murmurs based on the timing...your vet should (my wife says a lot of vets suck at detecting murmurs) be able to listen and give you some direction based just on that.

I didn't get a grade, just said minor. First time at this vet, my long time guy retired and sold his practice last year. I plan to stay on top of it visit wise to confirm and/or monitor, just kind of difficult to gauge some of the behavior related questions they are asking. The pup acts as she always has, so it doesn't seem to be that it just 'came on' all of a sudden, but wonder why at no point it had been brought up either.
She was able to explain the type of sound, and that heart rate, rhythm and all that were fine, very healthy dog otherwise, so not much to do besides monitor at this point I guess.
Just got me thinking about the future, and if anyone had experience with how it could progress so I could look out. Thanks for the reply
