My first one had the antenna built into the collar, so you could not trim it. Looks count to me while taking pictures and also in the field. Quail hunting is like walking into and out of a beautiful painting all day long.

Do you trim yours? Why?

Mine have antenna in the collar (D.T. Systems) I called them they said it wouldn't hurt anything to cut them. So I did. I don't notice any loss in distance.

Are you talking about trimming excess collar length, or the antenna?

I like to keep them longer so I can grab the dog easier if necessary

I have always left a mess after trying to trim, so I run the excess back up thru the buckle, and then back down thru the buckle and D ring. Kinda looks a little like a bow, but better than hanging down.

I use the Garmin TT 15's and have to trim all of my collars. Once I trim, I usually burn the edge a little to seal the cut.
Adios,
Gary

No. If needed I will run back through D ring.
