I had an acquaintance in Colorado that bred WPG. Nice dogs. I was able to hunt with some of his dogs. They were very animated and driven hunters with a natural retrieve. The certainly had the aggressive nature of most German dogs. I did find it interesting that they were much closer working than my Spinoni. They tended to range about 30-50 yards in open prairie. We were hunting pheasant and the breeder indicated he preferred that they range close. Perhaps his dogs were trained to work close but to me it seemed like they were doing it very naturally.

This past Fall we had our youngest Spinone at a dog show in Austin. I met a person who had a nice WPG that indicated he was active with the Houston area NAVHDA group. If you are interested in WPG I would contact the NAVHDA group and try to find contact information. His dog was the #1 ranked WPG with AKC for 2015. Nice dog.
