Ok I got a couple cap guns, one with paper caps, one with the circle plastic caps, both pretty much suk. When they do go "pop" my 13 week old black lab doesn't have any reaction when fetching a bumper. I would like to move up in loudness. I have an Harrington Richards .22 short blank gun, I've had forever, uses the .22 short, black powder blanks. This might be a little loud right now.
How about .22 crimp blank?
How loud is a 209 shotgun primer in a 20" barrel, 20ga. 870?
Of course last will be the real thing.
Right now we are just in the back yard and really don't want the PO PO coming to see WTF I'm doing.
Thanks.

Cool tool, I ordered some .22 crimps for next step. I think the 209 primer or .22 short blanks, the real gun.

Been using a empty 20ga hull with a primer for years, works in any shotgun you have it you trim off crimp. Cant get cheaper than that.

Thanks HUNT15
I did get some .22 crimps, they are fairly loud but I can still get by in the back yard. So far Jessie is not bothered by the "bang"
I'll look for a cheap way to decap 20ga hulls and prime

Call your local gun club there is bound to be some one who would fix you up if you buy the primers. There is always a bunch of hull laying around the club you can get for free if you don't have any.
