Does anyone have a trainer to recommend for force breaking? I live near Marble Falls. I have a 2 year old lab. She will retrieve, but wants to chew and even eat the birds.

Most trainers are capable of "force fetch."
With your issue, try enforcing and working on "here" that way you are close enough to at least get the bird from it.

I believe his name is Harlin winters (sp?), he snake breaks dogs but does other training also. I think he lives in Austin but trains near Burnet. I heard him talking to someone about training retrievers If I remember right. I have heard his name come up before on the forum, someone here might have more info.

Sounds like she needs FF, and has a hard mouth. FF will help her a lot, but plan on staying on top of her keeping her mouth still for a long time after she gets back from the trainer. Hard mouth dogs will revert back to chewing if you don't.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.
