for archery, you could also check into the Corp of Engineering around Lake Georgetown.

Lake Granger too for that matter. Also might check into getting on Fort Hood. There is also the Balcones Canyonland preserve off FM1174 between Liberty Hill and Smithwick ... not sure how you get connected with their draw system, but guess it should be fairly easy online.
