Those early summer rains have been very beneficial for the speckled trout bite this summer. I really can not remember a better summer. The redfish bite was not great but the trout bite more than made up for it. The redfish are finally starting to show up and the specks are getting ready to spread out along the wells in southern Trinity Bay and it is time to go well hopping for specks. If you have never gone well hopping before it is a blast. We basically go from well to well and fish every one and it can be quite productive in September on both articficials or live shrimp. The reds are finally starting to show up over heavy shell in the rivers and you definitely do not want to miss that bite. Talk about a workout. Hammering reds all day will make those back muscles tell you how old you are getting in the morning but what a great way to spend a day. Give me a call if you want to get hooked up!!
