ALL OF MY REGULAR CLIENTS HAVE SCHEDULED THEIR HUNTS AND I HAVE A VERY LIMITED AMOUNT OF DATES LEFT TO TAKE NEW CLIENTS FOR WILD QUAIL HUNTS IN NM THIS FALL AND WINTER. WE HAD A GREAT CARRYOVER FROM LAST SEASON AND WE ARE SEEING THE BEST CONDITIONS THAT WE HAVE HAD IN YEARS. THE HATCH IS UNDERWAY AND IT LOOKS AS THOUGH IT WILL GO WELL I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL HATCHES OF 15 PLUS CHICKS. I HAVE A SEASONED STRING OF DOGS THAT ONLY HUNT WILD QUAIL AND ARE VERY EFFECTIVE AT TAMING THESE CHALLENGING BIRDS A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF SHOTS ARE ON POINTED BIRDS. WE WILL MAINLY HUNT BLUE/SCALED QUAIL BUT WE DO FIND SOME BOBWHITES AND WE CAN ALSO ARRNGE HUNTS FOR MEARNS QUAIL. I MAY CONSIDER DOING ONE TO TWO HUNTS THIS YEAR IN ARIZONA AS WELL FOR MAINLY GAMBELS WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF MEARNS AND SCALIES

I ONLY SCHEDULE 40-45 DAYS OF THE 90 DAY SEASON IN OREDER TO GIVE MY DOGS REST DAYS AND TO ALLOW FOR SCOUTING BETWEEN TRIPS I WANT EVERYONE TO HAVE AN ENJOYABLE AND SUCCESSFUL TRIP SO I STRIVE TO HUNT NEW AREAS WITH EACH GROUP TO PREVENT HUNTING OVER PRESSURED BIRDS AND NEVER OVER HARVEST A COVEY.
