Sounds like a few people use horse stall mats from TSC. I just used an old rug we were going to throw away.

Call a commercial flooring company and ask if they have any scrap carpet tiles. Easy to use.
Haven't had it in years but never spit any out. I am a sucker for happy endings and strapped cowboys.

For walls I like the cheap stuff from lowes or HD, the short low-shag stuff.
For floors you can't beat the rubber horse mat from TSC. Quiet, durable, and real easy to clean. No fun trying to get mud out of carpet.

Contact several of the Carpet Distributors along 121/Carson in Ft Worth or google them up around McKinney and ask if they are throwing away any 18"x18" or 24"x24" carpet square samples with rubber backing...stuff works great ProSource or Shaw would be the first two to contact

I just bought some yesterday at Home Depot. They have 6' rolls so just have them cut whatever length you need. The stuff I picked out was $4.08 per lineal foot. The also had some that was $2 something but it was thinner. For a 6x7 piece I paid about $30 including tax.

Thx guys. I have a 4x8 floor or else the TSC mat would have been perfect.

After years of carpet use I learned to drill a few smalls holes in the floor and seal it with Thompson's. It takes awhile but the moisture retained will eventually rot the plywood.
