Looking for a couple winch up style corn feeders. Something like the hang'em high brand/style feeder. Wasn't there a guy on here who made that style of feeder? Just looking for some opinions on the best feeder of this style. Thanks.

Yes, I think he went by bholt??? He was in the Georgetown area IIRC. Other option is a well built Stand and Fill model that you can get from 300# and up for size.

I converted 2 standard 55gal feeders to crank ups. I got the mast head, barrel gambrel, pulleys and crank from Boss Buck and bought the pipe for the legs from Fulton Metals in Denton.

You can do it very easily yourself. Get a 1/2 inch bolt put a bend in it like a boomerang, get 3 pieces of pipe drill a 1/2 in hold in the top run bolt through washer and lock nut. Come down one of the legs run a large welded eye eyebolt through it with a shackle and a pulley(sufficient for the weight) then go down that leg mount a winch and your done.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm gonna try and build a couple and look into the stand and fills.

I built a few a couple years back. Certainly, wasn't the Cadillac of winch ups but I cherry picked components to get the quality and economy that worked well for me. I'd be happy to point you in that direction but I've got to find where I detailed it out.
There were a couple of places I hunted where only a winch up made since down in some draws that were only accessible by foot. The new lease doesn't require that so I sold the winch ups and replaced with stand and fill. No comparison but wouldn't have worked at the old spots I had.

Thanks rsquared for the kind words I am basically shut down for the year. I may still build a few game hoist but basically I do this as a way to solve problems thus the reliance on components. I would suggest that you stay away from pipe though I know it is cheaper however pound for pound square tubing is much "gooder". I still think the winch feeder is the best long term solution for a deer hunter. I built mine more than 11 years ago, have never staked them down, or fenced them. they have never been turned over by weather, cows or hogs. Hang-em-high makes a good feeder better than most I will say. If nothing else ask the guys at a local welding shop what they could build some of the parts for, it not rocket science, but common sense goes a long way.

If you ever go stand and fill you won't go back x2!!! I built one last year and one this year - I don't ever see going with anything else. Tough, easy to move, varmint proof, easy and safe to fill. I see no down sides...
