I have an Ontime Elite model that is screwing up. This one has the digital clock. It keeps resetting the time. It has 3 times in the past 10 days. I called customer service and they said it could be a short in the clock or the battery compartment. They recommended I put a 9volt battery in it to see if it solves the problem which will indicate it was the battery compartment. The compartment holds 10 double A batteries. So I installed a 9 volt and it is working but the motor is certainly not throwing as fast as it was.

So I took a spare feeder and installed it about 50 yards from my main feeder as a backup. Not the best freaking time to start having feeder issues! Customer service said they are backed up 2 months before they could check the timer if I send it in. I have 2 old ontime timers so maybe I can scrape together one reliable one to replace the timer on the main feeder.

I don't think I will be buying their products again! Lifetime warranty......does that mean a lifetime to fix it?

Until recently, I had used OnTime throwers for about 15 years. I still have the original gear though they've been rebuilt several times. By Lifetime, they mean that you diagnose the problem, send them the dead part, and they'll send you the new part. That worked real well for me, but I finally decided to keep a few spare parts on hand. The parts, if you buy them, are pretty cheap.

That said, I now have new stand and fill type feeders. You can have my two remaining OnTime Classic (analog) throwers and parts if you want to drive here and pick them up. One of them is still connected to a 30 gallon feeder barrel that can be hung or put on pipe legs.

It's all free, but somebody has to come get it. Batteries not included...

I always take mine in at the end of season.. send them off and they go through the broke ones and fix them...

I changed all of mine to the AA packs and clean the terminals often... iv got well over 10 running around 3 counties and they rarely have issues.. some are over 8 years old..

Make sure your wire connections are clean and arnt getting into a bind when you put them back into the box.

thanks for the offer 603 country and the advice Navasot.

Confused though Navasot about you saying you changed all of your to AA packs? I thought this was all that came in? Other than the timer with a built in solar. Please elaborate?

You can use the bigger 6v batteries you just have to change the connections.. The old style all came with that set up and a solar band around the housing. Iv only got one of the recent feeder timers
