Junk nowadays? I have had 3 Cuddebacks and one Wildgame Innovations camera crap out on me this year. Just when I need them them the most. Just ordered 2 Browning Strike Force. I hope the reviews on them are right.

i just put up my first Browning last weekend. I have been running Bushnells for years (with pretty good success actually, but a couple were breaking down after 5 years of use). I almost bit the bullet and did a Reconyx but went for the Browning instead. I will check cameras this weekend to see how it did.

I think you will be happy with the Browning, I'm running 2 of them and 2 Bushnell's. I'm hopeful. For sure. I felt like a couple of my older Bushnells were missing some deer activity. I would be hunting a blind where the camera was setup and deer would come in and I would check the camera after the hunt and it would have no pics of the deer... hmmm...

I've had my Browning out for almost a month so we'll see how it does in a few weeks and I've yet to set my new Bushnell Aggressor out yet. My Wildgame is going on it's 4th year with no issues since I've figured out the PIR setting had been adjusted down somehow.
It seems like most of the lighter colored cameras (regardless of brand) have always lasted longer year round in west texas. Perhaps less heat

I have a buddy about to return, or has returned his 3rd Browning Strikeforce. The LEDs keep going out.
I have learned that brand rarely means much for game cameras, except maybe with Hunter. I have had Moultries that were crap and other models that lasted for many years. Wildgame hasn't been good for me, but has for others. I have had a couple of Stealthcams in the past that were horrible and am running some now that are great.
I had one Covert bad out of the box, another die inside of a year, and two working for more than 3 years now. Go figure.
Cost does not determine longevity or reliability. If you find a model that works, it may be a good idea to buy a few of them.

I've used WGI, Cuddeback, Primos and Bushnell.
The early WGI that took C batteries was junk. I have 2 of the Blade 6's that have worked well and they were cheap. The old Captures I loved because of the color night photos but was a hit or miss and I always got the warranty from BPS. The bushnell has worked very well but the strap retainer was broke when I went to put it up last time out but still works just need to figure out how to fix it so I can strap it to a tree. The Primos worked for 2 seasons and then wouldn't power up.
I usually buy whatever is on sale and cheap since they all seem to have their issues. I have heard great reviews on the browning and may go with that one next.

I bought an Exodus...newer company. Checking the pictures this weekend but it certainly felt and looked better made than my Browning Strike Force cameras. They also give a 5 year warranty and give a 50% credit on a new camera if it gets stolen.

I sometimes test them by putting 2 per feeder. If you try that, be prepared for disappointment on just about all of them.

I have 2 Strike Forces out 24/7/365 for near 3 years now, no issues other than new batteries. I also have a Browning Black OPs and wouldn't recommend it for wildlife, more a surveillance app. I have tried several other brands with many more problems. I have read that some new SF need a software update, so....
I do know that Bushnells has come and gone in quality spurts according to several tech sites, seems the best rated was the older m880, or it could have been the m80 I don't recall

I don't like cuddes or the wild game innovations. I've had 2 Bushnells for the past 4-5 years that work perfectly.

Not many people know but Stealth has a feature where it quits taking night images when the batteries get below a certain percentage. Activating the IR's takes more battery consumption than anything else the camera does. By the camera doing this even when my batteries get low I can get another 3-6 months out of a set of batteries sometimes, with no night images.... I have a good friend that works for them. They went through some bad engineering for a period and I'm sure that's what a lot of people refer to when there old Stealths sucked. They teamed up with all new engineers about 3 years ago and ever since then they have been putting out some awesome products. Some do and some don't remember but Stealth is the oldest game camera company still around today and were one of the first to market with the game camera. They also were first to come out with the digital game camera which we all use today. They have a number of cool technology patents and are constantly innovating and leading the market with new product introductions. My buddy gave me this promo code for their website, I encourage everyone who's on the fence or may have had bad luck at one time with them to give them a try. Doing 50% off on any Stealth Cam order using promo code STEALTH50 Only lasts until 11/9/16. http://www.gsmoutdoors.com/stealth-cam/

Bit the bullet, saved a little and picked up my first Reconyx this season. Don't have it out yet, but I'll put it through its paces before the season's out. I expect it'll do.

MikeOH, I looked at the Exodus. A little $$ but a 5 year, no BS, warranty seems good to me. I have, and use, a lot of them of different makes. Most disappoint me.
I bought a couple of old style Primos 35's a couple of years ago. They're still going strong and the Brownings, Cuddes, etc may or may not work very well. Some suck batteries which makes them fairly useless. Or maybe it's just junk batteries.

One thought on battery longevity, I have found that the recommended lithium batteries last a good while longer in my Browning IR's over the cheaper kind, they do cost more, so you have to figure that in as far as value per battery.
I get about 5 months out of regular AA's, but that is with lighter deer activity/photo's triggered. When I 1st got the Brownings, I used the lithium's and thought they didn't last long enough, but I didn't consider they had taken over 15k photos in 3-4 months set at 1 minute per photo lapse. My deer seem to spend a lot of time lingering around the feeder, plus it sits on the edge of my food plot, so they are "back and forth"

The old cuddeback cameras was nothing but junk! The new small squares ones are the bomb! Super long battery life, great pictures and no problems at all. They are the c2 model. Amazon for 139 shipped.

I was just looking at cameras on Amazon. 'Sure are a lot of different brands that you never hear about on here; fairly good reviews too, if you can trust those.

I've had my new Brownings going for about a month now. Lots of pictures and I guess they're pretty good. Daytime pics are extremely clear with sharp colors. Nightime pics are ok as long as the deer are fairly close. At about 25' the definition starts to blur. Batteries are still at 100%.

I have had the new model Browning 10 mp out for 4 days, great, crisp photos on this one as well. My older model Strike Force's are still going strong too.
