Needing some snake proof boots. Something that is either slip on or zip up, we have too many sand bits to deal with lace up boots. What's a good brand that will be comfortable for all day wearing? Would prefer something with a hiking type sole that's good in deep sugar sand

If you have deep pockets, Russell Moccasin Co. You send in the measurements of your feet and legs and they make the boots to those measurements

Cabelas snake boot w/ boa lace system uses steel cables that tightened with rotating knob. When you want out pop the knob and they loosen .I have a pair bought last season. Rockey boots originally come up with the boa system

I don't worry about snakes until I see one, then I shoot my way to the truck and g home.

I have used Chippewas for the past 13 yrs. Have seen Justin but never bought any. Seems when I was needing a new pair they did not have what I needed in stock.

I have Chippewas. They look great the day you get them but it don't take long to make them look well worn. Think I am going on 4th or 5th season now and they have held up well even being worn 45+ days a season. Most people would probably wear them 1/3 of that so I figure I have put about 12-15 seasons worth of normal use on them. Once these are wore out I will buy another pair.

I have the Cabela's boas also. I don't tighten them and I can slip in and out of them quite easily. They're also comfortable for a snake boot.

I have a pair of Chips and they are the most uncomfortable boots I have ever worn. As soon as I win the lottery I'm getting a pair of Russells

I've never found a pair of snake boots that will fit over my gigantic calves. I always wear snake gators,or chaps. Almost any good leather boot will protect your feet from getting bit,it's the area above the top of your boot to your knee that you need to worry about where I hunt,we have some pretty big snakes up there.

I have a pair of cabelas zip up snake boots, most of the time leave them unzipped when working but zip them up when walking. They are comfortable and waterproof. They don't make the zip up kind anymore.
My son wears the lace up cabelas snake boots and likes them. He doesn't have any trouble getting into our out of them.
I don't have any problem walking all night hunting coyotes or hogs in my cabelas boots, they are very comfortable. I have not tried the Boa lace ones, so can't comment on those.

I really like the Bass Pro Redhead line. I'm on my 3rd pair of them. They are zipups and pretty decent boot for the $$$.

How about some stove pipe with leather buckle straps on them, just don't wear tennis shoes.

Chippewas are always a good choice unless you have fat calves, or larger legs. I also have a pair of Lacrosse snake boots that are extremely comfy.

I bought these Chippewa's at the Justin Outlet in Ft Worth for $90. Best pair of boots I own and they're waterproof Chippewa boots

Super comfy in the store, worst thing I've ever worn in the field. I wore them turkey hunting and when I started to put the stalk on a group I fell over because of the pain they caused. Taking them back and getting something else, prob La Crosse

I read some positive reviews on Danner boots (can not remember in what forum) and I had the curiosity to visit the site. Among the models for hunting I saw two with snake protection and thought about buying one of those future. Have any of you used the Danner boots and can compare with Chippewa? Grateful.

Everyone's feet are different. The Chippewa boots are pull on type. The Danners are lace-up. I have had Chippewa, were not comfortable for me. Plus, they were not big enough for my calves and my pants...too tight around the top with my pants tucked in. So, I bought a pair of Danner Snakeboots that are based on their excellent Pronghorn hunting boots. They are lace-up. My feet are extra wide, so I wear them with thin socks....comfy! Have worn the same pair for years. I am a quail guide, so they get plenty of usage during the 4 month season here in Texas. This past year, my heel finally wore thru the waterproof lining, so a new pair is in order for next season...just keep the leather treated so it doesn't get all dried out, and they will be a great investment!

I need to get me some Chippewa with the zipper. I have a hard time getting boots on because of a high instep.

I know a bunch of guys that run ranches around Alpine and that's all those boys wear. They say wearing and working them like they do they'll get two years out of a pair, three if they're lucky.
