im about to buy or trade for a glock 40 .10 might be going on an elk hunt in the near future,,mayby a year or two away..i dont want to start a heated debate..I have watched and read alot of videos and reviews..and one reoccouring brand keeps coming up Underwood..is this a hot load that would be enough to hunt with..either big hogs or as a backup for black or brown bear..i have decided on the glock model 40 because of the option of adding lazor sights or other optics and th 15+1..i have a glock .40 for carry..what do yall think on otc hot loads??? other options?

Underwood 10mm ammo should be a +P round. Glocks do not like +P ammo. You start to get poor accuracy, and ftf and FTE issues. I have 6 glock 10mm pistols, including a G40. I don't load hardly any pistol ammo, except 10mm because of the crappy factory ammo options. I have done lots of 10mm testing, and have come up up the perfect 10mm ammo. It's standard max 10mm ammo, and not the +P stuff that causes issues, or the watered down factory ammo. I'd recommend the 200 xtp load, as it hits very hard with deep penetration. I use this load for big pigs, and it works great. https://dallasreloads.com/product-category/pistol-ammo/10mm-auto/

I had a g20. It would shoot the hot stuff like crap so i put a 23 lbs recoil spring on. It shot great after that.
