Anyone reloading for the Grendel? Are Lee dies for the 6.5 as bad as everyone says on the other forums, or would they be worth trying?

All their other dies are ok cant see why those would be any different. Maybe not a competition set with a michrometer or whatever built in but I'm sure they will work fine and make good ammo.

Don't know about Lee's Grendel die quality, but Hornady's are very good, unless you want competition grade dies. This is a fun caliber. 8208XBR and 123 AMAX is a great combination.

Spend a little more, for a little better dies, and much better customer service.

I use Lee.6.5 Grendel dies. No issues yet. I Have only loaded Hornady brass with Hornady 123 Amax. Shot a ragged hole at 100 yds. Shot 16 handloads all functioned well and went to point of aim. I think there may be seating issues with some bullet profiles?

When I ordered my Grendel, Alexander Arms suggested Lee dies and shipped them with my upper and brass.

I guess its a Chevy/Ford thing. I've got almost two dozen die sets in use and all but the Grendel are in green boxes. I just happened into a Hornady set when I got the Gren, and they work fine. Worked up a load with X-Terminator and 120 grain Nosler BTs.
