Who actually knows?
It's common knowledge that military demand as well as other things affect consumer availability of everything from powder to brass to primers.
Could be something that we will never know.

H4350 is made in Australia, I don't know why supply has slowed down so much. I have heard restrictions on how many lbs on a container ship, but who knows.

Just ran some initial trials with Re16 this weekend. It will push a 180-grain Partition to 2900 fps in the .30-06 without any problem, BUT the accuracy node will be between 2700 and 2800 fps, I think. My own first impression: OUTSTANDING!

Thanks for the kind hearts, the reloading arena needs more people willing to experiment rather than hoarding what everyone wants.

RR-
I started working up loads this weekend with RL16. I loaded some 180 grain partitions at 55 grains and they were very accurate <1" at 100 yds. Same thing with 168 grain NBT with 56 grains. I just finished a ladder upping the loads at 0.5 grains per. I also had good luck with 150 grain Sciroccos and 180 grain Speer round nose. Do you mind sharing what your loads were? Mine were 57-58 grains for 150's. 56-57 for 168's and 55-56 for 180's. 150 grain Speer bullets did not do as well. Maybe 1.5" or so at 100 yds. So far, I have not seen any pressure signs. Primers look good, no ejector wipe and easy bolt lift.

JMM, I'm reluctant to share that charge weight (but I should say my barrel length is 24 inches). I experiment with stuff like this a lot because it's interesting to me, but I don't want anyone to think I'm promoting hot loads. Now that I have an idea where the limit might be with this powder, I'll be dropping back considerably and looking for the accuracy node.
I'll tell you more in a PM if you like.
