Hey all,
What are your favorite Redding reloading dies for the 257 Weatherby? Seem to run quite the gammut of prices and am so new to reloading, I don't know if I need the 2 die set, the 3 die set, or something like the Type S.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Any standard full length, 2 die set will do you fine for that. If you read the descriptions on each type of die, it will tell you what it is. My favorite dies are the Hornady FL dies. They are the easiest to use without tools, and the sizing die has a tear dropped expander ball, which I really like.

Any of those are great choices. The S type dies are bushing dies that can be more tailored to your particular firearm. I use S type bushing dies for everything we own. I'd recommend them, even for the first time reloader. They're easy after you understand the concept. They resize the neck to an exact specification to fit your individual needs. After the first loading you can remove the expander ball and get the neck tension you desire without overworking the brass by dragging an expander back through it. Get the "full length" bushing dies. Unless you're loading for more than one gun of the same caliber you don't really need the micrometer dies.

You can go to the Redding site and read about the differences as well as how to measure your loads for the proper bushing. Too much info for me to type in a post.

And unless you have one already, the Hornady OAL gauge is a great investment.

When i had my 257 i used the RCBS dies without any issues. The 110 grn accubond shines in that cal.

When I got mine I could only find RCBS dies; and only the 2 die set was in stock at the time and later got the 3rd die. I never had any issues with them and they seemed to be great quality but as Chad said...... If they would have been available I would have bought Hornady.

FYI I have had awesome results with Barnes TSX 100gr and RE22 powder loaded .5gr under max and Winchester magnum primer.
