Trying to get that 220 of mine back on track for great accuracy. Resized, trimmed, and primed about 50 cases and THEN noticed that half of them had split necks. Dang it. Well, I can finally make the transition back to Norma from WW (which worked just fine after I prepped it). Wasted 50 primers. Grump grump grump!
I have new Norma cases on hand. Let's see how they do...accuracy had fallen off just recently. Maybe the brass. Maybe cause I hadn't bumped the shoulder back enough. Hopefully the barrel isn't fading. I've had that second barrel a while. It's always something....

That sucks...how many reloads were you able to get out of the brass before failure?

Pop those good primers out and reuse them.
Did it last week.

I've never reused a primer. Too late for these, but maybe next time. Loaded up the Norma brass with my decades-old accuracy & hunting load, and brother I'm back in business. Shooting great now, just like always. It was that old work-hardened brass that was my problem. I don't know how many times I reloaded that brass, but it was a bunch and was over a long time period.
I didn't measure before and after group size, but I'll ballpark and say that worst groups with the dead brass was about 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches. New brass groups, which I didn't get real serious about, were somewhere in the 5/8 to 3/4 inch range. Quite a difference. Now when I shoot, the bullet hole is where I expect it to be, rather than me being surprised and wondering what the heck was going on. Next couple of days I'll see what sort of groups I can manage. I'd do it today, but the wife and the cats are a bit tense from all the noise.
I already ordered more Norma brass.

Did it last week. Slow and steady, safety glasses. Couple of times when primers were scarce. Back in the 60's you were not always within driving distance, time was valuable, and overnight delivery only came from the baby stork.

Which ocean kept you out of driving distance?
