I planned on using 140 or 150 grain bullets for my X-bolt. Then I got on a lease with Nilgai. So i want to bump up to 160 grain accubond or partition. Anyone have issues with the 160's in a little slower 1 in 10" twist. It is a 22" barrel. It looks like most manufacturers use a 1 in 9.5 or 1 in 9, except Browning.

Do not think you will have any problem with those 160s from a 1:10 twist barrel

I used those in my .280 and they do just fine.
Then I turned it into an Ackley and it still is okay with the Accubonds. No loss of accuracy out of my rifle.

There's only one way to find out, but any of the non-VLD designs should be fine. Bear in mind it's bullet length and not bullet weight that causes instability. You can probably even shoot 175 grain round nosed bullets out of your rifle, although I can't really think of a good reason to do so.

Woodleigh makes a 140 grain brass solid; you can find them on Midway. Barnes used to make the banded solid until the ATF lost their mind and decided they were "armor piercing." I'm sure that someone, somewhere makes a 175 solid, but not too many people are shooting elephants with 7mm rifles these days. More's the pity.

I would try 150 core locks I have a browning 280 that my grandfather shot for years and I have had since I was 16 I'm now 32 I get Sub MOA groups everytime I'm at the range. I don't understand why the cheap ammo works the best I have tried almost every other brand and weight combo out there.

Got a chance to test them out yesterday. Check zero at about 125yards. They hit slightly high which is what I wanted. Shot same as 150 partition at that range. Rattled in a nice 8pt late morning and the 160AB blazed right through both shoulder bones and thick muscle at high velocity (80yards). Just missed heart but aorta washed shredded and one lung was complete mush. Buckled and ran 20 yards. Just a couple specks of blood on ground where i shot him and no trail though. I think they will do fine on a nilgai.
