I have been prepping lots of .223 brass recently and I ran out of the bottle of home made lube that I made the day after Christmas 2013. I poured in 1oz of Liquid lanolin in a spray bottle then grabbed the bottle of 100% Isopropyl alcohol poured up 12ozand got back to sizing probably quicker than it took me to type this.
I looked thru our reloading tips but did not see where the recipe had been posted but I may have missed it.
Anyway I thought I would share as some may be interested or may think its some complicated formula.

Buy as close as you can to 100% Alcohol or you can also use HEET as its about 99% IA which is what I did the first batch.
Then get a bottle of Liquid lanolin...... both can be bought easily online or I got my lanolin at City Market.

Get a spray bottle pour in 1oz of lanolin add 12oz of alcohol and shake and spray away. I spray in a large flat tupperware container about 150-200 pieces at a time pop the lid on shake for a few seconds let it sit for 15 minutes and its as good or better than One Shot which I still use for small batches in loading blocks so I can direct some into the necks if desired.
That bottle should do about what 10-12 cans of One Shot does for the price of 1 can.

I posted that recipe to great ridicule and scorn on another forum. Old fools stuck in their ways, still rolling on a pad. SMH

Does this, or other spray methods, leave a residue on the inside of the case that would cause accuracy problems?

The method of spraying in bulk mentioned above does not get much if any inside the case.
When I spray One Shot in loading blocks I try to get some inside as Hornady recommends and have not noticed any accuracy issues.
But then again maybe that's why all my rifles don't shoot sub .250 groups all day long like other folks on the interweb whistle

Funny. I did the same thing and experienced the same result. I forget which forum it was on. Who knew people loved their lube pads so much and were content with only doing 5 cases at a time and ending up with fingers covered in case lube.

The OP is now in the Tips and Tricks Sticky.

Have been using Hornady Spray lube since it came out and cannot tell a difference in accuracy from the old pad method and it sure is cleaner. If most of what I reload for shoots around MOA I am happy with it. A few rifles I expect better accuracy than that but I am the worst component of accuracy.

Will have to give this one a try

Imperial Sizing Wax is the only way to go,IMO. I've never had a stuck case with it,and I can't say that with any other type of case lube that I've tried.

Case lube is all up to the reloader,I have nothing bad to say about the way anyone likes to do things. If it works, and your happy, then carry on! up

I have used Imperial sizing wax but only to reform brass from one caliber to another. Its not really an option for volume reloading IMO.
