I'm running a TAC338 receiver, you can use the same for a Lapua. Brass is abundant and that is a Prometheus Gen 2.
Chad, they are 300 OTM's - I got a box of 500 and can't find anymore anywhere (for a reasonable price). That is the biggest challenge right now.

I head out in 2 weeks to try some long shots with this rifle. I had a small issue at first but it was operator induced and now the rifle is shooting extremely tight out and consistent now. We will be taking it out to 2500 and then 3000 or more depending on how things shake out.
Still looking for anyone who has a Terrapin that they will loan out or sell. I can use GPS for the distance but would prefer to laser as well.

Reasonable price...says the guy with the Prometheus Prices were abnormally high on the OTM's - I don't mind paying for quality but I won't overpay. Buying the Prometheus was tough but now that I have it I can tell you it is worth every penny. The consistency is a bonus, the time it saves is the real value, especially for me since I have little spare time and the less time at the loading bench the better. Giraud Trimmer, Annealer and Prometheus are my saving graces.

I know nothing about mausers, i'm sure someone else will chime in on that.
the bolt faces are also different between those cartridges by about .045

Jeff,
I am using both 88 and 91gr of H1000 - the 91 is a bit hot. 300g OTM's are all that I have used and I am spinning up another barrel w/ a different twist and throat for some solids.

I've heard it's a very forgiving cartridge accuracy wise like a x47 is. I've loaded some 88-89 h1000 to try with the 285 amax. What are the specs on your build? Also what kind of MV did you see with the 91/300 load?

Also what kind of MV did you see with the 91/300 load? 28" Benchmark on a Stiller Tac338, almost getting 2900 out of them at 91. I'm heading to TacPro in the AM to do some final tweaking before I head out to Wyoming in 2 weeks and we are going to try for some long shots on targets on some BLM land between elk hunting. The gun is much lighter than I expected and am running a prototype brake that makes it literally feel like a 308. It's a big hunk of steel though.

Still messed up Dave. It doesn't say private on my end just that "there was a problem".

Dave...how easy (time consuming) is it to change loads? Two scenarios really...one if you went from say 32.6 of Varget to 38.2 of Varget and the second is swapping between a 32.6 grain Varget load to a 40.5 load of H4350 and then a 45.3 load of H4831sc?
Thanks.

Thanks. as quick as you can adjust a traditional balance beam scale, empty the hopper and put in your new powder..

Interesting...so is it labeled and accurate to a kernel or do you have to keep adjusting and then validating the weight on a different scale? Sorry, I know elementary questions but I keep thinking it would help me and the time savings I could almost justify the cost.
