I have a question concerning Norma Factory ammo. When I shoot, the brass is hard to extract from the rifle. Action acts like it needs oil. However, it feeds fine when cycling unspent ammo. Again, this is FACTORY ammo, not reloads. Any help on this? Is Norma brass known to be thicker than others? Thanks!

First, what caliber? Yes, Norma brass is thicker than most other brands. Do you have any shiny spots on the case head, like from the extractor? It sounds like you might have some pressure signs. It's normal to have a little extra effort to open the bolt after firing than cycling unfired ammo.

There aren't shiny spots and the primers all look good. There is a mark in the same place on each casing where the case transitions to the first radius to meet the neck. And the caliber is a 257 Weatherby.

If there's a mark on the brass, it coincides with a rough spot in the chamber, maybe.

Maybe stuff a cotton ball in there and see if it snags...

I'll definitely check the chamber. Tried Weatherby ammo and problem ceased.

Sounds like pressure. I would not use them.it will get worst in hotter tempts. Go with the weatherby ammo or any other that doesn't cause a sticky bolt .

If it is leaving a distinct mark on the brass I would figure there is a bur or something in there causing it.
