It seems like all I can find is cheap American eagle or similar around $7-9 a box or hunting rounds $25-40 a box. I'm looking for something I can play around with and shoot 300 yards without breaking the bank.

I buy this alot and shoot it through our ar's and the 223 bolt we have. It's not the most consistent is all the guns, but it's fairly consistent overall. From teh bolt gun, I would say I can regularly shoot a 3" group at 200yards with this stuff and I still feel like the set up can shoot better if i could.

There is a website I like to use called gunbot.net
I find this website to be a very useful tool to spot go ammo deals.

Depending on what your gun shoots, mine are 1:7" twist and love the 62gr round very well. Oddly, with all the craze over the 62gr penetrator green tip ban, my guns shoot that one the worst. Armscor has been accurate for me and the 223 Armscor is made in USA whereas other Armscor is made overseas. I've read some good reviews on Prvi Partisan but I've not shot any below the 75gr Match BTHP. That 75gr shoots better than anything in my rifles. Check Ammoseek and Gunbot for listings.... See link.

I go to Bone Daddy's for the burgers....yeah, that's why.

Yep and there's components in bulk for sale here that could get you down close to $6 even having to buy the brass.

Pass the gravy.
