I was wondering what the best combination of bullet and powder would be for white tail? I have only been able to find SST and A-Max rounds from Hornady. Any help would be appreciated.

I shot one with a factory 123sst this year, it worked well. Didn't get a chance to load any before hunting season, but I'll be trying 140s and 123s and maybe 129s if I can find them to see what shoots the best. I'll stick with ssts or amax. Either will be find, they are also supposed to shoot the same.

Shot 2 does this year with 123 gr. A-max. At around 100 yards both were bang, flop, DRT. Every bit as effective at that range as the 7-08, 308 and .280 that I've shot similar deer with game kings and SSTs.

The reloading guide I have shows Accurate 2520, Hodgdon BL-C, CFE 223, H335 & Leverevolution, Ramshot TAC, IMR 8208XBR, 4320 and 4895 for the Hornady 123 A-max and SST. Similar for the 120 gr. Nosler BT.

Haven't shot anything but hogs and yotes with the Grendel yet but the A-Max loads work well for them.

When I get around to it will try some of the 130gr accubonds that are at the house with it. Looking at the elk that have been taken with that bullet and how well it does in the 6.5-284 has me wanting to try it on critters. Another that should be good in it are the 125gr partitions.
