Yes. It's a reformed 260 Rem case, blown out some with a 30 degree shoulder and a little longer neck. It's a little hotter round that is supposed to fit and feed out of a short action.

Same parent case. Either would work. I knew PRS guys using Remington 260 brass for it. It's a cool round. It's like a 260 Rem round but with a 30 degree shoulder, and the shoulder is slightly shorter than the 260 Rem is. This round was popular before the 6.5 CM, and when shooters were wanting to push speeds faster than the typical 260 Rem speeds. I didn't see it often, but I think it was around a few years before the CM came out. It pushes a 140 grain pretty fast, for a short action 6.5mm round.

You won't do it with that round. You will need something bigger than a 6.5x284 on a long action. I can get 2950 fps with a 140 grain in a 6.5x284 with a 26"-28" barrel in a long action with the bullet loaded out long. A 264 Win Mag could do it with about 58 to 65 grains of powder. The new 6.5 PRC would easily do it with about the same amount of powder. Or 6.5 SAUM (Gap 4S) will do it. But, if you are going to go that fast, you need to look into the new 147 ELDM from Hornady or the Sierra 150 grain Match King. The BC's on these bullets pushed hard out of a 6.5 PRC or GAP 4S would be awesome. It would smoke a standard 140 grain at longer ranges. 147 ELDM or 150 SMK at 3000-3050 in the PRC- link HERE Sierra 150 grain SMK

6.5 sweedmoor can get you there but it takes fireforming and isn't friendly in all actions.

take a 243 win and run thru 6.5 SLR die- pushes shoulder to 30 degrees thus making neck longer for more bearing surface.
Most efficient short action case I Have seen. Just like the 6.5x47 and creedmoor but more capacity. 2500+ shot barrel life in a standard bolt face and short action

more capacity. 2500+ shot barrel life So, more case capacity, faster speeds, and better barrel life than a 6.5 CM or 6.5x47. I'm not sure about that. But otherwise, the other info looks correct. You will want to fire form the brass also to round out the shoulders and brass.

Most efficient short action case I Have seen. Now you’re just being flat ridiculous That warranted more than a but to be fair...that’s what I was doing. Chad is right, barrel life won’t be much different. Oh and I have a 6slr and if I was going to do a 6.5...I’d start with a 260 because the neck is already .264 Once again...if you’d just listen to the good advice you’ve been given you’d be far better off in life. If 6.5 speed is that important to you there are three choices...6.5-284, 6.5 SAUM/prs or 6.5x55 AI. The middle one limits you to a mag bolt face which I think would be dumb a hell with your ADD. Yeah you caught me in a weak moment and I wasted the few minutes to type this because you don’t listen.

Chad forgets things as bad as you do. You ask him a question he doesn't remember if you've already asked it before.

im wanting to get the 140 Berger to 3000 Buzz, My view is to go with a case with more powder capacity and run comfortably in the safe pressure zone rather than a smaller case “pushed hard,” which really just means higher pressures. Checking Hodgdon’s online data, to stay within the safe pressure zone will require a 6.5 PRC, 264 Win Mag, or the starting load range for the 26 Nosler. Your McWhorter rifle would be good for this goal. What did you not like about it? How will this rifle be different?
