I've been thinking about converting my 223 AR to 6.t Grendel does anyone have any experience with them? Pros vs cons?

I have a 6.8 but the Grendel is similar and and a fine cartridge. You'll need a new bolt and new mags beside the barrel. Would be great for medium game with the SST.

Have one AR and a bolt action it the Grendel. Like the caliber, accurate and makes the AR15 into a fine hunting gun for deer and hogs. Inside 300 yards the Grendel and 6.8 are very similar on game. Beyond that the higher BC of the 6.5 gives it the advantage.

Trajectory of the round very closely mimics the 308 with 165 gr match bullets and retains 1000 ft/lbs of energy to 400 yards or beyond depending on load and bullet choice.

They're awesome. Great round for Texas hunting, especially in an AR platform.

I love mine! It's my go to rifle for pigs, and deer. Right now it has my Digital Night Vision on it. Mine shoots the Hornady rounds great, Wolf is OK, but my handloads work the best. (120 Nosler BT)

Just buy a second upper unless you have a buyer for all your .223 parts.

I've been thinking of buying a 6.5 or 6.8 upper as well and just keeping my NV scope on it. Has anyone had any experience with Radical Firearms? I've only seen a few reviews, but they were positive.

I think I bought an upper from Radical but I can't tell for sure. I'll let you know how it goes once the deal is complete. Yes, I know the website says 6-8 weeks but also says my item was in stock...? No interaction with a human since payment sent.

Pass the gravy.

What a great price! I'd be all over it if I needed one.

I saw that as well...in stock but 6-8 weeks for delivery. I'm already backing that up from a date in the fall and range time, etc. If I want to use it in the fall, I'm going to have to order it in the next few months so I'd have to range time and confidence in it.

I have i in an AR and love it. I built with a Shillen 20 inch barrel and misc other parts
it has been a blast to shoot. I have only run hornady thru it and that can get expensive
if you shoot alot but I'm debating on the cheper ammo to try.
