What is the effective range on these rounds for rats? I have a friend that has a rat problem in a metal barn.
Thanks in advance.

I have killed a few tree rats with 22lr and 22 mag at about 10 feet out a NAA mini revolver. Also shot and killed a quail on a hunt at about 5-6 ft. A longer barrel might be a little better though.

I don't want to use regular loads. His barn is metal and I don't want to put holes in it.

10 feet it is pretty good, have killed lots of rats over the years at up to 15 feet with them. For rats I like the crimped version better than the CCI ones, little more shot in them and they pattern better from my old RG 6 inch barreled 22 pistol.
