I'm planning on shooting 140 Berger VLDs. I'm going to start with 4831sc but I'd like to see what everyone is shooting (powder and bullet) and the velocities they are getting. My rifle is a 26" barrel. Thanks everyone!

RL-22 had been a go to. Its been a very accurate powder with match primers in 3 rifles ive had chambered in 6.5x284

H4831SC is the only powder I have run in mine sofar. When and if I try another powder will start with H1000 as F-Class shooters are reporting good results with it.

I have a lot of H1000. Maybe I should try that but I don't want to spend too much time finding the perfect load. As soon as I find one that's consistantly sub .5 MOA I'm gonna call it good. I know barrel life can be short so I dont want to shoot too much playing with loads.

R22, IMR 7828ssc, and H1000 all have given me good results with the 140 class bullets.

I love my Pro Chrono, very good value and accurate. I have the remote reader too. Buy some extra sky screens from Midway and ALWAYS carry a couple 9volt's because it will run down just as your setting it up at the range.

Enjoying the recipes for the 6.5-.284, on my list along with the 6.5X47L

If it dont shoot well with H4350 or H4831, something is wrong.

I would have to look at my log book but for some reason 2950 comes to mind out of a 26" barrel

I've just recently tried some IMR-7977 with both 139 Scenars and 142 Nosler LRABs, had good results.

What loads are you running to get that speed? I've tried many times, but can not get the speed with 4831. Also, what barrel length?
