Anybody reloading these short cases with non LE bullets? How do you deal with the crimp?

Does the die not have enough adjustment to crimp it like you would any other 45-70? Haven't yet but will be in the near future... will be watching here to see what others have to say.

The crimp feature of the seating die is only adjustable for depth of crimp, not length. I've read about some others grinding or using a lathe to trim off .0055 to get it too the right length. Lee's Factory Crimp Die will not work either, per Lee's website.

Here is some information that will help you. Looks like new dies are the correct solution.

And the dies for LVR brass.

Is this a typo or where did you see this information?

Yes, I found that yesterday finally. I got that length from another forum. Can't remember which one now. I did a lot of looking on the ole interweb trying to find a solution. I have about 300 rds of LE brass and really did not want to chuck it. On the other hand, I learned a lot during the search.

Just noticed I typed that length wrong. Should have been .055, according to what I read. I'll do some checking before I grind on a die but I have an extra set for 45-70.
