Now stock up on Varget and brass. Have varget but probably not enough. Just bought 7-08 nosler brass at cabelas last week. They had it sitting there looking at me. I figured it was a sign. I'm actually not sure about what powder to start with on the 7-08 and 162s.

I use Varget in my 7mm08 AI with 162 right now. I know some guys run H4350 with good luck. I believe I'm going to try some rl17 to see how it works.

When I started reloading with a press and not the Lee Loader, yes the one used with a hammer, it was for the 7mm-08. The load with IMR-4350 that I worked up then in December is still a half MOA load in cold temps and opens up a little on warm days. Switched to Varget when it was introduced for more consistency Winter or Summer. 32+ years 2 powders.
Now we have lots more choices of powders that are less sensitive to temperature swings. The 3 Dee mentioned would be the ones I would be researching the most with RL-17 being the one I would try first.

I am just starting to use Varget, before then I was using IMR 4064, 42 grains. Best group .275 cold to .35 hot.
