Shooting 100gr of triple 7 and a 240gr hornady xtp sabot. 3-4 inch groups at 100 yards swabbing the barrel between shots. The worst accuracy I have ever gotten out of a knight. Barrel is in good shape and has been taken care of well. Anybody have any advise?

I have 3 Knight Disc Extremes, all have been converted to use bare primers and produce moa groups. The first thing I would suggest is switch to Blackhorn 209 powder and try Hornady SST bullets in 250 or 300 gr. with their EZ load sabots. I like a load of 105 to a 110 gr, by volume, of BH 209 and a Federal 209A primer. You will need to change the breech plug to avoid ignition problems. See Knight's web site. If your gun doesn't like that combo try Harvester's Scorpion PT gold or Barnes' bullets with the plastic tips. The xtp is a pistol bullet & I know a lot of guys kill a lot of deer with it. I just like a bullet with more long range potential. Good hunting.

When I had a Knight, it was extremely finicky with what bullets it would shoot accurately. I ended up loading 90gr with the Knight-branded 300 gr lead HP sabots

Wasn't born in Texas, but I got there as fast as I could.

Try a different bullet....I think you may find that the Barnes Sabots may shoot better.

You can also reduce the powder down to 90 grains. I would go with Blackhorn powder and Barnes bullets that combo works in all four Knights that I have.

I don't shoot a Knight but you might try these. They're the most accurate bullet I've shot. Here's where you can get them and read more about them:

Play with the weight powder loads, different powders and try different bullets.

Good luck.

Paul

I shoot Knight.. always have I've had a few others too..Like Lymann. Knights can be very hard to get the right bullet and powder combo. Takes a lot of home work. I shoot a Knight Disc 50 cal and use the following.. 125 Grains of Triple Seven FFG loose, and I shoot a 260 grain sabot. The bullet I get from PRbullets. With that combo I can easily shoot out to 200 yards. Hope this helps.. good luck

Knightdiscshooter is on the right track. Shooting the Knights is more like re-loading for a centerfire than anything else. The Disc rifles I've had all shot with different loads of loose powder. My current Knight likes 110 gr of loose triple 7 and a 250 grain Speer bullet. Prints 3 shot groups around .75-1"

Pay it forward - Kids are the future.

Rifles are similar to boats and young women...there's no end to how much money you can pour into them without making them any more useful.
