Anyone use them?
It's getting really hard to find rocket broad heads around here anymore, I picked up a package of jackhammer heads awhile back ( similar to the sidewinders, but with thicker blades) and from the Two turkeys and pig I have shot, they seem to be ok. Pretty big hole the SST's are a 1 3/4" cut.
Reviews naturally are mixed but generally pretty positive the only negatives I think are due from shooting hard angles and low poundage bows.
Anyone have any experience with them?
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I haven't looked back at Wasp heads since the early 90s. There was a reason for that.

Guy on a lease in Llano, not big deer there, shot some Wasp heads through deer. Blades broke off just going through rib cages. Not that we didn't find a couple of his deer but when you are shooting a 4 blade head and two blade break off on entry there's an issue. They just didn't have thick enough steel or a good locking system. But try them and let us know. They may have better quality now. Heck, I didn't even know they still made broadheads.

Indeed I'm not. Shot two deer with my bow last year and one the year before that.

They may have changed them.....they now have the thickest blades on any mechanical I've seen and wear two or three blades instead of 4

I used them for a couple of years, probably 2007-8 maybe. I killed three deer with them, and never had a thru and thru shot. The entrance was huge and they were easy to track with that massive blood trail. The last one had me worried, a 27 yd shot from a Switchback XT, I saw the arrow go in, about half way, and it looked like it bounced off the deer from the blind. What happened was that it went in, the deer clinched up and broke it in half, and that half fell out. I probably wont ever use them again, there are better ones out there IMO.
