Since I've been feeding I have been getting more and more hogs and less deer. I have one or two boars that come in with a pack and sometimes solo. So I sat in my tent for a whole evening sit with no luck. As I'm walking back to the mule I can see that there is something black under my other feeder. So it just me a small headlamp and my crossbow. Once I get 8 yards I can see better with my eyes instead of the scope. All I can see is his butt is facing me and that was it. Since I care more about deer , I knew I needed to get rid of this boar since he is a daily visitor. Best I could I put the top dot right on his butt where the arrow would hit him long ways. I shot and he ran off after a small grunt. So by sound he crashes hard like he was taking down full cedars. Since I was leaving I looked for my arrow for about 30 seconds. I walked his general direction and I heard him crash again not to far. Due to time and the fact I accomplished my goal of taking him out I left. So if you ever take a Texas heart shot on a decent hog using a slick trick , it works.

No pics , just a really cool story that ranks slightly higher than a picture of your nightly dinner

Don't know why, but reading this makes my butt hurt.

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.
